New Blog

I made another blog. I was watching Julie and Julia and was inspired by something she said about her reasoning for starting her cooking blog. To train herself to finish what she started. Set a short term goal and finish it. I've been needing to do that so, inspired to do it, I began a blog about it.

Otherwise the day hasn't been all bad, just lazy. The heat outside keeps me from doing anything out there and what needs to be done inside I've not had the motivation to get done. But I do have things I want to get done tomorrow. Cleaning for one, my goals for another. I'm finally going to tackle Mother's room. I'm going to have to do it with her here and that's going to be so hard but I'm willing to give it a go. She makes it too difficult I'm just going to tell her my intentions and if she doesn't want me to do it I'll leave her to do it herself.

And on that I'm going for the evening.

One Of Those Bad Times . . .

Still hot here in spite of a really good rain yesterday. That's really nice I hope it starts a trend. There is a vicious hurricane heading toward North Carolina but it's not going to do us any good in spite of it being a really large system. But our time will come assuredly.

We're just riding out the waves of poverty right now I really hope I get a job soon I'm going to do what I can do to magically move things along as soon as I can formulate exactly what it is I want to do. I do know I want to get back into working in Conroe. So I'm concentrating there.

I love my YouTube 60s and 70s playlist. I have over 120 songs on it, and I'm building my 80s hard rock playlist now.

Going to go now more later.

Obsessive

I'm so obsessive compulsive it's unreal. There is a song from the summer of 1970 titled Lay A Little Lovin' On Me by a man named Robin McNamara. About 6 to 8 months ago I was on my way home from work and the radio station I was listening to surprised me with this tune. I very nearly lost control of the vehicle I was so thrilled to hear it again after so very long. I guess when I got home it completely went out of my head because I'd forgotten about it until 2 nights ago when I went to see if I could find something on YouTube that I'd seen on television. I think I was looking for the Geico commercial that Richard Simmons just got through filming. Anyway, on the side where related videos show up I caught that song title and happily clicked the link. I've never seen Robin before and really wasn't sure who actually sang that song. I pulled up the video and here is this cute lil hippy guy, a cross between Tommy James and Donovan, if you ask me, singing and dancing to this song and I LOVED it! I watched it, I shit you not, about 30 times that night, I was up until 3 a.m.. I found more videos too, some one hit wonders I used to rock out to as a teen. So I have this awesome playlist now on YouTube and I have been bringing it up and playing it while I fool around on the computer. I haven't felt such happiness in years as that night I sat up gathering all these great songs. Amazon.com has some Sounds of the 70s compilations that have Robin's song on it that I'm going to order next Friday so I can have him in my cd player in the car whenever I want. I feel like a kid again!

This is a copy of my LJ blog, because I can. How many of these things can we have?!
